This section contains information about visiting the archives at Durham County Record Office, and what to do if you are unable to visit.
Durham County Record Office is located on the lower ground floor of County Hall, the administrative headquarters of Durham County Council, in Durham City. Find out about our facilities and how to prepare for a visit. See around the Record Office using our picture gallery before you visit.
The Record Office search room is open Monday to Wednesday. Please make an appointment before you visit.
You can contact us by email or telephone on Thursday and Friday when the search room is not open to visitors.
