First World War workshops

Find out about our First World War archive workshops for children of all ages

We offer a range of exciting First World War workshops suitable for children of all ages. Find out more in the PDFs below.

The First World War centenary continues to be marked around the county and nationwide, with various events happening throughout the year.

To coincide with this, Durham County Record Office has put together a series of workshops centred on our archives, including the Durham Light Infantry Collection.

Workshops can be delivered at the Record Office in County Hall or at your school. Visits to the Record Office allow students to see our strongrooms and original documents. In order to protect the records we care for, we use high quality copies for visits to schools.

The cost is £100 for half a day of workshops. Within this time, we can deliver workshops to suit you. The length of sessions can be altered to fit your needs and we can fit up to three one hour sessions into this time.

All of our sessions can be customised to your own needs. We can even design a workshop just for you! Give us a call to discuss what you need.

All workshops must be booked in advance.
