Local History sources selected just for you!

Ever wished it was possible to compile a pack of high quality, interesting and locally relevant sources for your Local History Study without leaving the classroom or spending hours trawling the Internet?

Well, now it is!

Our new Local History Packs are tailor made for you. For only £50, we will do all the searching and copying for you. All you have to do is give us a call, let us know what you need, then sit back and wait.

Packs include:

  • Your choice of two Ordnance Survey Maps at six inches to the mile - perfect for exploring streets and buildings
  • Three photographs of your village
  • Five photocopy quality pages from a census of your choice (Please note that only 1841-1911 have been released by the National Archives)
  • Five photocopy quality pages from a parish register of your choice or  five pages from a different census

All you need to do is contact our Education Archivist on 03000 267626 or record.office@durham.gov.uk and let us know what you need. You can pay over the phone by credit/debit card or we can arrange an invoice/internal transfer.
