Additional Facilities

The following additional facilities are available in the Record Office:

Self-service microfilm reader-printer: Available in the Search Room to provide copies from microfilm and microfiche. Each copy costs 50 pence. Please bring small change if you wish to use this equipment, which takes all coins except 1 pence pieces.

Copies: in a variety of formats can be supplied of almost any documents, although this is at the discretion of the County Archivist. Costs vary according to the size of the original document. A quotation can be supplied on request. You may be able to use your own digital camera, for a fee. Ask staff for details. Please note that you cannot take photographs of Ordnance Survey plans, tithe plans, archive photographs or microfilms.

Sale of Publications: A wide selection of publications is available.

Disabled Access: There is wheelchair access into County Hall and there are two microfilm readers available in the Record Office where wheelchair users are given priority.

Cafeteria: serves breakfast 8.30 - 10.30, lunch (hot food) 12.00 - 1.30 and sandwiches and beverages 12.00 - 2.00. You can also eat packed lunches in the cafeteria. There is also a cafe at the nearby DLI Museum Please note that NO food or drink can be consumed in the Record Office.

Vending Machine: There is a vending machine near the Help Desk in County Hall for the purchase of hot drinks, and a drinking water dispenser is available. An additional vending machine in the cafeteria provides sweets and savoury snacks.
