Battalion: part of a regiment, about 1000 men.

Bearer: an Indian waiter.

Coolies: Indian general labourers.

Chukkers: a timed period in a polo game, about 7 minutes long.

Doodh-wallah: an Indian who brought water to the house.

Khansama: an Indian cook.

Khitmagar: an Indian butler.

Mali: an Indian gardener.

Pani-wallah: an Indian who brought milk to the house.
